Happy New Year!

Welcome back to the Jiu Jitsu Calgary Newsletter.

It was great to have a couple of weeks off over Christmas and New Year and now I’m really excited to be back in full swing. There are some great classes and also additional events lined up for this New Semester.

-

#1 - Free Self Defense Book.

I have now made my Self Defense Book on Targeting and Striking available to Students and Parents, please visit my blog and download yourself a copy:

http://malcolmbale.com/free-self-defense-book-targeting/

Please feel free to pass this above link on to family and friends so they can download a copy too.

The book covers many of the weak and sensitive areas around the body together with the most effective ways of accessing and striking these targets. Targeting and Striking is one of the “Essential Elements of Self Defense”. It shows people how to be effective in Self Defense, regardless of size and strength

#4 - Class Sizes

As many of you have already experienced, class sizes have grown, especially the adult classes. Do not let this be of any concern as we have so many ways to solve this minor problem with ease.

We have the available space to make more classes available and there are plans to do exactly that. We will allow the classes to settle over a couple of weeks and then make plans to deal with the situation accordingly.

-

#5 - Facebook

Some time ago, I created a group on facebook and you are welcome to join us there. It gives an additional opportunity to share video, comments and articles. Here is the link:

As Jiu Jitsu students we can really benefit from this type of training.

This month is an opportunity not to be missed. Effective kicking is an essential element of Jiu Jitsu. Many students often neglect this area but it can really add some zap to your game.

You will be amazed at how effective kicking can be when combined with some of the other elements of Jiu Jitsu. I would not be organising this event unless I knew just how beneficial this will be to you.

  • How to Kick
  • How to Stretch and Increase your Flexibility
  • Kicking Drills
  • How to Practice
  • Exercises for Effective Kicking

Date - Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Location - Jiu Jitsu Calgary.

The cost of this event is just $25 as long as you move quickly. I can only hold this price until January 28th when it will increase to $45. This is still absolutely tremendous value for this type of training. In fact it’s virtually a give-away, I have attended courses with half the value at more than 3x the cost.

We have to limit the number of people who attend so be sure to register ASAP to ensure that you do not miss out on this fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the very best in the area of effective Kicking.

We are organising a high energy fun training session, followed by a fun Gladiator Style competition to really keep the kids highly motivated about training.

We’re helping to build confidence by encouraging the kids to speak out in a group, we helping to build friendships by creating a fun atmosphere.
